Vocabulary is one of the most important aspects to learn a language. The purpose of this sectiosis that students know about false cognates and could identify them in daily life use.

False cognate is a word in one language that has a different meaning from a similar-sounding word in another language. (Taken from http://www.macmillandictionary.com/us/dictionary/american/false-cognate).

For example when a spanish speaker hear the word "actually" thinks that the meaning is "actualmente" (currently in English) but the sense is "de hecho".
​
The aim of this activity is to improve your vocabulary and learn false cognates in a funny way.
​
Activity: (aprox. 10- 15 min). Listen to the following songs and explain in your own words the meaning of the false cognates without looking up the expressions in the dictionary, and compare them with the correct meaning.
